System Six, a joyful, modern, fast-growing and remote accounting organization, is excited to be looking for an entrepreneurial tax professional who will join us as our new Head of Tax. As Head of Tax, you will have autonomy to build a modern, remote tax-practice focused on serving both new and existing business clients the way you see fit!

You will only serve clients where we do their underlying bookkeeping - no individual 1040s! We aim to deliver all financials by Feb. 15, so we expect you will get to avoid busy season craziness. You will be supported by and work directly with the CEO and the rest of the System Six leadership team. This position is fully remote!

So what are we looking for in an ideal candidate?

• 5+ years experience preparing and filing small business tax returns, primarily for S Corps and Partnerships, including select investor owned businesses which require issuance of K-1s 
• 5+ years experience delivering other standard tax services such as planning, strategy, estimated payments etc.
• 3+ years reviewing the above tax related work and managing a team of tax professionals 
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field. CPA required.
• Fluency in modern tax software and other important cloud products  
• An entrepreneurial spirit - someone who is excited to build. This is not just about processing tax work; it’s about thoughtfully designing and building a 7+ figure tax division over time 
• Excellent communication skills across digital channels and an innate desire to build relationships
• Keen attention to detail and adherence to deadlines and a passion for bringing the same out of others
• Resourcefulness as an excellent problem solver who also knows when to ask for help
• Humility and openness to coaching and critiques; always seeking to improve
• Excellent coaching skills and a desire to empathetically build a team and teach and mentor junior staff
• Joy and a positive attitude in all communications internally and externally
• Persistence and an ability to politely remind others to stay on track
